March 2021 Student Highlight of the Month
Meet Kaitlyn Sevilla!
The March 2021 Student Spotlight
Kaitlyn Sevilla is a DPT student from Ithaca College, Class of 2022. Here is what Kaitlyn’s nominator had to share about her:
Kaitlyn Sevilla is a hardworking, passionate, and dedicated leader who shows an appreciation for others in a way I have never seen before. She values people’s lived experiences, gives back to the community, and truly puts in the effort to become the best clinician she can be. She is a role model to so many in our program (both in the cohorts below and above us) and continues to pursue her passions while advocating for others. Most recently, she helped organize our program’s annual Yogathon event as Co-Chair of the ICPT Student Association’s Civic Engagement Committee. This event not only provided students with a much-needed opportunity to partake in some self-care, but also raised money for the St. John’s Community Services in Ithaca, which provides emergency housing and food services to those in need. In addition to this event, she also helped organize a virtual 5K this past fall to raise money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of the Finger Lakes.
On top of all of this, she presented a poster at CSM this year, serves as a caregiver, volunteers as a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and was a Teaching Assistant in several of the courses in our curriculum…ultimately the list could go on and on!
Those who know her can attest to her sweet, down-to-earth nature, and I can wholeheartedly say that her future patients will be extremely lucky to have her as their PT! So way to go, Kaitlyn – your hard work does not go unnoticed!
