History

With a proud heritage beginning with the genesis of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in NYC in 1921, the APTA New York is currently the second largest chapter in the APTA. It is composed of over 6,000 members who are physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and students. In the spring of 2021, the Delegate Assembly voted to rebrand NYPTA as APTA New York to align with APTA national.
