GOVERNOR SIGNS DPT TITLE PROTECTION BILL INTO LAW
A Message from NYPTA Leaders
Dear NYPTA Member,
We are pleased to inform you that our legislative bill related to “DPT Title Protection” has been signed into law by Governor Cuomo. The credential “DPT” is now protected for use only by Doctors of Physical Therapy.
We would like to offer a sincere “Thank You” to all who have supported this bill and who advocated on our behalf to our legislature and the Governor’s office. This legislative victory is the result of the hard work and dedication of our members, chapter leadership, and our lobbyist staff at Whiteman Osterman & Hanna, LLP.
Stay tuned for updates and a Call to Action related to our Workers’ Compensation/Physical Therapist Assistant bill.
Sincerely,
Jake McPherson, PT, DPT, NCS, MSCS - Chairperson, NYPTA Public Policy Committee
Michael Mattia, PT, DPT, MS, MHA– President, NYPTA
