I love working with people. I love returning individuals back to function.
What is a typical day like for you?
I get an early start with Crossfit, then I start assisting professors in the PTA program until the school day is done, finishing off the day with dinner with my fiancé.
What was the exact moment you decided to join the PT profession?
When I was at the VA receiving therapy, I saw the DPTs working with patients. I loved the idea of helping others. What would you tell your student self about the profession?
I would tell myself to put in more time in A&P. It will help 10-fold! What is the most rewarding part of your profession?
Returning my elderly patients back to functioning, and seeing students graduate from the program to start their careers. What is the one of the biggest challenges to your profession?
Explaining to DPTs what a PTA can/can't do. Limitations PTAs face in our profession can be a struggle. What is the most important trend you see in the industry?
I think the push for equal reimbursement for DPT/PTA is something to keep an eye on.
Who is one of your role models and why?
Jenny Chamoun. She is brilliant and I learned so much from her to be a good person and therapist.
